What This Is

People write in with all kinds of questions.

Dating. Sex. Relationships. Kinks they feel weird about. Breakups they can’t get over. Things they did. Things they didn’t do.

On the surface, the details change. Underneath, they don’t.

Most of the time, the real question is some version of:
Am I too much? Not enough? Is there something wrong with me?

This is a place to answer that more honestly.

I’m a therapist. I work mostly with LGBTQ clients. I started writing Ask Jake in 2017, and over time it became less about advice and more about translating what’s actually going on underneath the situation.

Because once you can see that part clearly, things tend to shift.
